From the table above, the prices of all the three rice varieties have risen in the first ten months of B.E. 2551 due to the export restrictions imposed by the rice manufacturing countries which greatly affect the demand and supply of rice in the world market. The cases of India, where a ban on rice export is effective and in some countries where there is an insufficient supply of rice have led to widespread protests and greatly affected the political stability of the governments of some developing countries. The projected inflation which leads to transfer of the profit-making channel from financial markets to product markets, together with the depreciation of the US dollar plays a crucial part in aggravating the world food crisis.

3.5 Problems of THAI HOM MALI RICE Export
1) The annual rice production volume does not meet the demand for consumption in the domestic and export markets.

2) The price of THAI HOM MALI RICE is not stable as a result of the unpredictable production volume and the export markets each year.

3) The blending of THAI HOM MALI RICE with other lower-grade white rice varieties in order to seek profit.
